Xrays of tooth and implant

After
|
This patient had completely fractured the top of his lateral incisor leaving only the root which could not have been restored using conventional techniques, thus requiring extraction. He specifically requested an immediate solution without having to wear dentures. Although conventionally an implant can only be placed after a 10-12 week post-extraction healing period, in some instances we can place the implant straight after the extraction. This is known as immediate placement. In addition if the implant is really stable when placed, we can even place a temporary crown straightaway! This is known as immediate loading. As this case satisfied the criteria required for immediate placement and loading, we were able to restore the patients smile straigtaway. |
