This case demonstrates how implants can be used to replace a missing molar tooth. Although not in the aesthetic zone, it is equally important to replace any missing back teeth as their absence can cause the teeth on either side of the gap to tilt into the space. Similarly, the tooth opposing the gap will also continue to grow longer as it has nothing to bite against. This is called over-eruption. The overall effect of this movement can change your bite and affect your ability to function properly and even cause problems with the jaw joints. A dental implant is an excellent way to replace the missing tooth and prevent these problems from occurring. Furthermore, it looks and feels like your own teeth.
